’stray dogs’ is the sophomore album from the Helsinki based electronic duo Shepherd’s Call. Like stray dogs, many neglected buildings and areas exist on the peripheries of Helsinki – acting as symbols of freedom and despair at the same time. This image was the starting point for writing the album. On the album the duo explore loop-based compositions reminiscent of ambient music of the 1980s. Woven together with dusty field recordings from the surrounding cityscape, the music evokes feelings of bleak melancholy and calm.
