Can you tell us about this track?

The track was made eight years ago in a glimpse of a moment. I was having hiccups one day and thought it would be nice to know how it sounded from outside; therefore, I recorded it. After listening to the recording, it somehow reminded me of a specific set of emotions. Like some sort of funny heartbreak or like how heartbreak would be depicted in a cartoon. And I sampled a piano tune and put it together with the hiccups, and that's it really; the track was done in 15 minutes.

What's your process?

My process is, I guess, very emotion-based. Emotions are my guide in everything and in my work, too. I have no rules, no discipline, but I have a very strong sense of purpose and feeling that this purpose that I have as an artist can only be achieved if I completely submit myself to my instinct and feelings. Therefore, the process really depends on the moment and where I am being guided in that moment.

I also don't work with a lot of equipment, so everything is just simple. Not too much thinking. I just go through my archive of music and sounds and find material that speaks to me in that moment and start reworking it. Sometimes there is something finished very soon after, and sometimes I take time to go back to it. I think the most time I take is for listening to the finished material. This is also my favorite part, and I know that if I can't stop listening to it over and over again, I have definitely reached something meaningful.

Tell us about being a musician in Switzerland.

Hmm, I am someone who definitely grew into loving living and working in Switzerland. I know that this is not everyone's experience. .. When I decided to move here, I often said that I just felt there was a lot of unexplored potential, hidden gems, and, most importantly, I saw my place here and also what I could contribute. I also often say that for me, timing, or where you find yourself in the moment, defines your experience of a place so much. I think I was moving here at a perfect moment; the kind of boredom and quietness that comes with the place is exactly what I needed after living in very active, overwhelming, saturated places for most of my life.

I wanted a place where I guess I could quietly digest and work through all the input of life I received before ... I have had this conversation a lot, about how Switzerland often becomes a place of contemplation and deep reflection for many, as it is always in this quiet, unbothered position and zone.

Who are your favorite Swiss artists?

My good friend Wren is the first person that comes to my mind. I think their voice is the best thing ever, and everything else that comes with it is just magic. I should also mention Tobias Koch and Price. They both perform at a whole other level, and it's a pure pleasure to experience their work. I also recently discovered Xafya. Absolutely wonderful and stimulating work.

Who would you like to see perform in Switzerland?

It's funny because in the last few months, I’ve seen almost all my favorite artists perform in Switzerland, but there are still a few left that I'd love to see. One of them is someone I'm totally obsessed with. I think nothing has ever resonated with me so closely as her way of creating DJ sets. It's like she speaks to everything I believe and try to explore and express. Her name is Josephine Moriko. Another artist I'm totally obsessed with at the moment is Aaron Dilloway and I'd love to see him live. I'm also a huge fan of Boris and Merzbow; seeing them perform would probably be life- changing. :)

I'd like to give a shout-out to my good friends Levan and Sandro. We started multidisciplinary label Blue Yogurt together a long time ago. They are one of the best people in my life who have played a huge role in forming my taste and personality.
