"Prior to writing this song, I spent about a year climbing out of a deep depression by listening to near-death experience stories. I began seeing parallels everywhere. A truth that permeated through so many philosophies and religions. I went from being a staunch materialist to having an unwavering faith in the afterlife - oneness - source.
When I sat down to write the lyrics, death seemed to be all around - an old friend, a grandparent, David Lynch. The day after Lynch passed, I joined a group meditation through his organization, and felt a sense that the wall between this reality and the one beyond was thinning, on a collective level. What once filled me terror began shifting into awe. My lyrics are inspired by Lynch’s reflections on transcendence and the ocean of consciousness.
At a time of so much division. I think it’s a message we could all use right now." -Vitesse X
