Ending Spaces is the second album by WW/RLLX on which the synthesizer and piano parts were gradually layered with electric guitar and vocals in an unusually clean form. In one of the tracks, Jorge Boehringer (Core of the Coalman) contributed to the sonic diversity with his processed viola. The result is a collection of songs that is less sonically aggressive than their previous output, at times even song-like, although it does not abandon the typical drone-like meditativeness and gradual development of repetitive motifs.
WW/RLLX is a collaboration between Martin Sýkora and Luboš Rezek, which originated as an overlap of two solo projects with roots in the Klang-und-Krach collective (White Wigwam and Rouilleux). White Wigwam creates sound abstractions on a modular synthesizer that combine psychedelia with analog electronics, ranging from minimalist rhythms to drone soundscapes. Rouilleux is characterized by introverted compositions that organically incorporate drone, noise, and fragments of guitar genres. His work never completely renounces free forms, but strong melodies and, above all, a voice full of urgency and dark undertones are central.
