What does a real good musical project mean to you as an artist or a listener? Everyone have their own definition.

It can be about the quality of the production, the songwriting or even the storytelling. But for Lena Mædgen, it meant to be truly honest with yourself and your art otherwise showing a first perception of a 17 year-old explaining her deep thoughts in a complete 7-tracks project.

In November 2021, Lena Mædgen Rayhan Widelene Kamila Anesippe also known as Lena Mædgen was releasing on SoundCloud and YouTube her first extended play, at that time, she didn’t know how to properly promote it, share and talk about it on social medias she felt overwhelmed by the pressure of being a young artist needed to reach a certain standard to be “viral” with Instagram or TikTok. But this wasn’t the case with Lena’s EP “VII” who were entirely built on gender affirmation, understanding herself and discovering new sounds who can help her to find a way to correctly express her creative mind during that rough period of time.

A song that mostly resemble into Lena’s mindset in 2021 is “cªliupsycė’s ~Interlude~ (Ends of the Debuts ¿)”. The duality during the process feeling untouched by the hope she was trying to give to herself with a deformed piano who’s representing anger, anxiety and sorrow with a vocal recording made by her longtime friend who’s representing pain, delusion and insanity.

While making the EP, Lena Mædgen knew this would be a better explanation of her mental state with the hope of being heard throughout her music.
