"Algorithms" was produced exclusively with samples from randomly selected YouTube films suggested by its algorithm. This resulted in an extensive archive of audio recordings from influencer videos, documentaries, news reports and obscure films. These found sounds from the digital world, which determines people's everyday lives, were heavily edited and arranged with the help of various computer software.
The result is a dense work of eight tracks full of orchestral passages, distorted drones, robotic choirs and fragmented rhythms. They leave a feeling of sensory overload like hours of scrolling through social media. Layer by layer, the album reveals the full range of human emotions on the threshold of the transhumanist age that will be dominated by artificial intelligence.
