Bristol-based rock music trio Sunglasz Vendor are releasing their earth shattering new single ‘I’ll Do To You Yourself’. A barely-two-minute blitz of intensely euphoric emo and arty pop punk, the track captures anger at its most infantile and potent, serving up a raw, sugar-fuelled tantrum of cyclical hatred.
Opening with a twinkling guitar arpeggio, ‘I’ll Do To You Yourself’ quickly soars into self-destruct mode, with singer/guitarist Rafi Cohen screeching over stratospheric math groove. With barely enough time to get your bearings, the chaos soon dissipates, surrendering to a gorgeously nostalgic chiming outro. To mark the release of the single, the band will tour the UK with Glasshouse Red Spider Mite across seven dates in November.
On the single, Cohen offers: "This song is about cycles of hatred. There’s not much poignancy to it to be honest. Someone hates you, so you hate them; it’s stupid, immature and very satisfying.”
lyrics:
You win
The fortress of the worst
I never said
I’d never be around in the area
It’s tough to break the back of mind
That I’ll do to you yourself
So far gone
So focused
So I’ll make us always warring
Finding hardship gets quite moorish
Find your love nest filled with hornets
One must survive, the other stays around in the area
So far gone
So focused
On my steps
So far gone
In your hatred of what I’ve done before
I’m so sure
I’ll do to you yourself
