The 36th release of katharsis presents the debut EP, "Songs for Stamina," by Berlin-based artist Promise, set for release on October 24th. Promise uses a radically minimalist framework, creating strictly monophonic compositions that bring forth vivid landscapes of intense and boundless energy. His inspiration is rooted in the compositional techniques of canon structures and melodic mirroring, which the artist skilfully uses to conjure the illusion of a vast polyphonic texture, by enveloping his driving melodies in expansive echoes.

The result is five distinct tracks with a hyper-digital sound and anthemic character, that immediately feel very emotional. The artwork by Elfy shows the five sonic miniatures as fragmented sketches that seem like something cute and raw. On “Songs for Stamina”, Promise immerses the listener in limited musical units to experience the geometry and dimensionality of a melodic cell.
