"cRis" is the debut album by French-Slovenian artist Andra, releasing on katharsis on the 19th of March – a gentle yet abrasive bubble exploring the tenderness of death and the impulses of life hiding in the darkest corners. Broken guitar echoes resonate endlessly within its ambient noise structures, reaching toward the deepest caves. The record moves between ethereal layers and moments of sonic overstimulation, holding both delicacy and excess in the same space, slipping in and out of reality’s edges.

Rooted in a practice shaped by electroacoustic composition and a close attention to both natural and urban environments, the productions draw on club aesthetics only to dismantle them, dissolving any stable sense of rhythm or linear time. What appears structured is gradually undone; what seems soft is edged with grain and friction. Between synthetic chaos and suspended atmosphere, the album swings between weight and suspension, clarity and saturation, without settling into either.

The title holds a double reference to the album's themes: a cry, as in a scream, and as in a chrysalis – a body enclosed, preparing to split. The artwork mirrors this tension, depicting a blurred figure mid-transformation, shifting from pupa to insect in overexposed grain. cRis remains in that state of becoming, where enclosure and release overlap, holding the tension of a body about to split.
