"Kenjutsu" was conceived as a common expressive outburst, dictated by the mutual need to communicate to the other a state of transversal restlessness. The two compositions are presented as an agglomeration of chaotic elements, deafening noises, and indefinite timbres wrapped in shaded and shadowy drones, which evoke anxieties of the past and worries of the present. The elements appear isolated, but overall they are in harmony, to create a dystopian space with a nostalgic aura, which drags the listener into a state of reflection and reanalysis.

L | R & A / V are the pseudonyms of Luca Rigat and Andrea Valenti, two Italian experimental music producers. Their project starts from a common interest in sound design and acousmatic music, resulting in the research for alternative production methods such as self-generative art and sound re-synthesis. Many of the starting materials are organic and consist in recordings, realised through various instruments. Those materials are abstracted from their original context through various processes of sound manipulation and then re-assembled. Therefore L | R & A / V try to find a common thread in the multitude of samples, to create connections and narratives which identify each of their works.
Their sound is characterized by the presence of dense and deep sound carpets, opposed to a dynamic and chaotic front ground. The resulting soundscape is hypnotic, disorienting and timeless, free from the mold of conventional music.
