“No More”
The project between Luca Rigat and Andrea Valenti - Milan-based sound artists - starts from a common interest in the fields of audio and sound design, flowing in the research for alternative production methods, involving auto-generative art, sound re-synthesis and acousmatic listening. Most materials are organic and consist of field-recordings captured through found devices, infusing a coherent flavor into each of them. The audio contents are then abstracted from their original context through sound manipulation to be re-assembled in a new form. This process represents an attempt to find a common thread in the multitude of records of a period, creating connections and narratives which identify each artwork.
Their sound is characterized by the presence of dense and deep sound carpets, opposed to a dynamic and chaotic front ground. The resulting soundscape is hypnotic, disorienting and timeless, free from the mold of conventional music.
