The 22nd release of katharsis is the album “Jester” by the Finnish duo Running, coming out on May 16th. The album unfolds an emotional and mythological tale of an imaginary terrain in an alternate time and realm with the Jester as the protagonist. Throughout the eight tracks, the listener is presented with a sonic world of tragic, sadness, beauty and even comedy by the duo’s poignant style of melodious ambient compositions.

Running’s “Jester” follows their last album “For Us By Us”, released on the Finnish label True Aether in 2018. On this release, the group seem to thrive with a conceptual and almost narrative backdrop for their creative outpourings. As Running have earlier been known for their very energetic and experimental live-performances, and as both members have indulged musically in other projects spanning from hardcore punk to contemporary performance art, it will be exciting to see where the duo goes from here.
