For this album I wanted to record all the songs using slightly better equipment than I've been working with in the past, which basically just means a short step up from using the microphone on my phone.

As I wrote songs and chose songs to record, I tried to imagine some kind of arc, at least musically. Not that there's a story being told across all the songs, not on purpose. I just wanted to think of the collection as a whole made up of individual pieces.

Mostly, the songs are written for my partner and are little tributes to our many adventures moving and shaking over here in the West.
