Where to start with Doormouse? The lore runs deep. From Dan Martin’s early days as a rave agitator to his major role in the development of breakcore music in America to his second-act swerve into the world of high-intensity fitness to his more recent re-entry back into the land of hardcore rave experimentation, the man has lived a full, confusing life. Just the way it should be! Today, we are happy to announce that Doormouse’s 2005 classic, whose full name is Stanley Yershonowski Presents Xylophone Jism As The Ridiculator, is up on Nina. The jazzy, sample-filled record showcases the more playful side of Doormouse but still has enough mangled breakbeats to satisfy the ‘core fiends. Personally, it’s one of my favorite records in his discography. Listen to it today while you do some burpees!
