Throughout their brief existence, Parisian label Association Fatale has showcased a wild and eccentric spectrum of music tailored for clubs and their enthusiasts. They display this sensibility prominently in their Don’t Panic compilations, featuring artists representing the new left-field club sound of Paris, echoed by labels like Promesses, BFDM, and Temet. Dub, breaks, and hyperpop abound, reflecting a lack of rules akin to the Brussels scene.

For their latest, Association Fatale presents what we can only perceive as the debut release from Party Escort Bot. Not much is available online, so the music clearly tells the story. Positing itself as a concept record exploring the perils of AI-generated life and the fusion of man and machine, the album spans from cryptic trip-hop and downtempo to more ecstatic club-influenced pop. The earlier of which exemplified perfectly here on “Bodycam” – a refreshing and captivating piece that has us looking forward to more.
