100 is a new project from the Danish-Tunisian artist Mia Ghabarou. “RED FLAGS,” her debut single, is skewed in a way that shouldn’t be unfamiliar to fans of contemporary Copenhagen indie, though it has a pop-leaning sense of drama to it that is more direct than aloof. Stinging sawtooth synth stabs punctuate a track whose lyrical content seems to directly reflect its loaded track title. The artist says the song is a study of the “psychology of desire, loss, and self-alienation.” Ghabarou’s processed vocals drive that point home, no doubt. A nice first tune.
