Burnt Offerings is a newly formed duo composed by Arson (Arthur Bdt) and Laopé (A.R. Leon). It was formed right in the middle of the pandemic as an outlet for musical collaboration that could be done remotely and, as a result, be unaffected by lockdowns or any emerging safety regulations. This online collaboration then quickly evolved into a full blown project that merges both of the artists’ influences, backgrounds and personal perspectives about life into a common ground. A place where differences are not only encouraged to exist but also to inform and nurture the resulting music.

Burnt Offerings is their debut, a four track EP involving a wide array of influences (from Drone music to traditional cuban music, from traditional instruments to modern sonic practices). These influences, while initially appearing disconnected from each other, found a gathering point
outside of their original context when intersecting through the use of heavy digital audio processing and deconstruction.
As the EP is unfolding and their sonics are taking shape, so does the
relationship between the duo - both musically and on a human level. This
EP is a documentation of that growth and the establishment of their
common ground, creating a space for perspectives to connect their own
story(s) to wider contexts.
