Acidclank, the solo project of trackmaker and singer-songwriter Yota Mori—known for his melodious tracks rooted in Madchester techno and praised for his outstanding live performances—has released his long-awaited new album In Dissolve! He has performed at Japan’s large music festivals, including Fuji Rock and SYNCHRONICITY, gaining increasing attention.
In Dissolve is a conceptual album themed around the “re-experience of trance states,” expressing the sensation of boundaries dissolving between oneself and the world. The first half of the album features repetitive yet melodious soundscapes driven by minimal phrases from gamelan and synthesizers, guiding listeners into a deep meditative state. As the album progresses, it ventures further into the depths of the mind through a diverse range of sonic approaches, including drum’n’bass and dream pop.
Incorporating elements from a wide spectrum of genres—such as ethnic music, psychedelic trance, minimal techno, electro, and dream pop—this experimental work crystallizes Acidclank’s bold musical explorations. The album artwork, also created by Yota Mori himself, completes a unified world of sound and vision.
