With the concept of "constructing a new kind of ambient music that embraces not only stereotypes but also ambivalent styles," yanaco pushes their sound exploration further than ever before. This ambitious release features their first-ever collaborations with a diverse range of artists.
Among them is “Lone Star,” an ambient-jazz encounter with Yusuke Sase, a rising trumpet player gaining attention in and outside Japan; “Pathos,” created with Seattle-based composer Ran Park, known for expansive soundscapes rooted in classical music; and “Nagi / 凪,” a collaboration with Josefina Tai, a guzheng player from Buenos Aires who also provided the album artwork. These tracks weave together elements of jazz, contemporary classical, and even club music, resulting in a one-of-a-kind ambient sound.
The album also features mixing and mastering by TSUTCHIE, the producer and beatmaker of legendary hip-hop group Shakkazombie, internationally recognized for his work on the anime Samurai Champloo.
