Recorded over a period of 6 months in Berlin, UK born composer Daniel Bryden utilizes a set-up of treated synths, found-sounds, and guitare préparé to create a strong sense of duality throughout ‘This Will Have Been the Past’, his debut as Days Like Television.
The album's title speaks of a strange, dislocated nostalgia - the simultaneous past and future that gives its name to the opening track, where melodies mingle with shimmering distortions, like the outlines of a memory fading into static.
Each sound is imbued with a strong sense of narrative- Bryden considers cinema as a primary influence- with reciprocal themes on the tape’s A and B sides tending to respond to each other.
The dualities are in constant fusion- a sound world that ignites whilst rebuilding itself from the ashes.
