‘Chokkor’ is the debut EP from SLINK resident Enayet. Recorded during a trip home to Dhaka, these three compositions reflect the constant motion and overwhelming density of the city, imbuing soundsystem pressure and intricately arranged rhythms with lifelike momentum.
"A walk through Dhaka city during daytime hours makes me feel like there is more to take in than I am able to process in realtime. Taking a rickshaw ride through the late night / early morning fog (the densest fog + smog I have ever experienced), makes me feel an unparalleled sense of serenity. Both experiences invoke a sense of infinite space. The former feels infinitely folded in on itself, The latter feels infinitely stretched, smoothing the wrinkles and creases from earlier such that they may have never been. This cycle is the inspiration behind Chokkor." - Enayet
This release is accompanied by a limited run of broadsheet prints created by artist and designer Somnath Bhatt. An extension of the EP artwork, the double-sided print is a mosaic of lyrical forms inspired by conversations between Somnath and Enayet. Many thanks to our friends Cassius Select and Kilbourne for contributing unique remixes to this project
