The first album release on DHJ comes from the label head pa de haan. “cd1-4”. Now leading with his first solo release on the label at a staggering 20 tracks, the project is a documentary of his life over the past 5 years, divided into 4 emotional divides.
It traverses through a multitude of electronic music techniques, showcasing a wide breadth of production skills and lack of respect for genres in the best way possible. cd1 focuses on wistful atmospheric vocals, cd2 delves in playful nightcore-inspired melodies and methods, cd3 is a collection of cathartic glitchy dancefloor grooves and rhythms, lastly cd4 ends with a trashcan of both uplifting and straight weird colourful beats that really don’t belong anywhere except the ears of the listener looking for something forwards in time.
Featuring vocals from label members Zoe Choi, BRINKY SPEARS and rapper KIMU, it is not without collaboration either. cd1-4 paints onto paper a wide diversity of sonic palettes, embodying the mission of DHJ to diversify and bend genre.
Vocals:
Zoe Choi on "Underwater", "Underwater (Drum Mix)", "Jamwa", "Prnt" and "Above Underwater"
