What does paradise sound like? That’s a tricky question, obviously, with lots of even trickier questions nestled within that question. Nonetheless, the Helsinki-based artist, inter alia, soldiers past any doubt or confusion. Here on their second EP, they conjure up a sonic vision of blue skies and crystalline beaches straight out of a damn Corona ad. On the EP, the tingly textures of EDM and trance music are stripped down and abstracted; in the process, the music gets pushed to its numinous endpoint. The shiver-inducing synths that have partly defined decades of pop-rave music are given space to shine, unencumbered by banging drums, in turn creating a cohesive set of music that is blinding like the slicing sun and cooling like a cone from Carvel.
